Isobel– Operations Manager, Director

Surprisingly, when I pictured what life would look like for me in my 30’s, becoming the Director of the Poo-volution wasn’t quite what I imagined. But moving onto my boat Wippy 4 years ago, I like many boaters, found myself quietly obsessed with the problem of ‘what-do-about-the-poo’. I soon learnt about Circular Revolution and joined the (then much smaller) Poo Crew as an admin/sometimes-cycler employee, with an interest in wanting to help CR grow. It just felt like a project that had potential on so many levels: both providing a needed service to our comunity, and exemplifying how grass-roots projects can show the rest of ’em how to do it. After a number of Community Meetings, I, along with founder Eve, lead on converting the business to a Co-Operative Community Interest Company in 2022. There are still lots of challenges ahead for us, but I am very grateful to be involved in a project which is building something with and for the London Canal community, exemplifying a model of waste management which is responsive to and responsible for those who use it and the world we share.
