How do I sign up for the collection service?
If you want either the regular service or a one-off collection, order from the website order form here. Once we have received your order you will receive a collection caddy within 2 weeks (probably sooner!). If you want to discuss your needs, scroll down to the bottom of the page and give us a call.
Creating and logging into my account
You will be asked to set up an account when you order a new subscription. The username is normally your email, and please choose a secure password you can remember.
The account home page is where you can check your subscription status, as well as pause your active subscription or cancel it. You can access your account login via the header bar on the website. Follow the link to ‘My Account’. Click this to login into your account.
You will be prompted to enter your username (or email) and password. If you have forgotten your password you can ask for a reset password link to be sent to your email account. From there you can set up a new password.
Once you have logged into your account, you can put your account on hold to pause collections, you can cancel a subscription and you order a new service. To order a new service navigate to the ‘order your service’ page. You will have to enter the information (boat name etc) again, as to comply with GDPR we can’t store this information.
How do I cancel my subscription?
If you wish to cancel your subscription you will need to sign into to your account using your email and password. If you do not cancel your subscription the renewal charge will not be stopped.
How will you find me on a boat?
We ask you to share your what3words location before collection days via our SMS messaging service. Will only collect from addresses inside our collection zone on the collection day. If the w3w you enter on the SMS is not in our collection zone you will not be able to schedule a collection, and will have to skip your collection. We are a London based service. You can view our collection zones here.
What happens to my shit once you collect it?
First, it is taken to our site in Bow where it is stored safely and containers are cleaned. During the pilot, we are trialling different options for treatment and re-use. At the moment, we transfer the collected material to a Composting Facility (EA and ISO registered) just outside of the m25. This uses innovative technology to safely transform sewage sludge and other organic wastes into a soil conditioner for soil restoration. We are also building partnerships with local farms to explore options for composting at alternative sites.
How often is a ‘fortnightly’ collection?
If you selected to have a regular fortnightly collection service, we will collect every 2 weeks. If you order a monthly collection service we collect every other fortnight, or every 4 weeks. The one-off collection service is for volumes of up to 75kg, for people passing through. Please call for details or order on our website here.
Do you collect other organic, green materials?
Yes, we collect any organic materials aside from the contents of the dry toilet, so long as it is no more than 17 litres. We do not collect urine or other humid/wet material, nor any plastic, metal or contaminated materials are not accepted.
Do you have licenses to do what you do?
We are a licensed Waste Carrier by the Environmental Agency and follow strict health and safety protocols to avoid any dispersal or contamination as we make our journeys and store the waste. We follow conditions set out in the regulatory position statement (RPS) 277 for the storage and processing of sewage waste at our site in Bow.
